Once again those things on life that need doing are replacing those things in life that I want to do. Work and other things are still preventing me from finding the time to do those quality things that I want to spend time doing.
Mr C and I spent the weekend up north visiting my mum and dad and whilst there I was able to take advantage of their garden and start my latest Rowan knitting project whilst sat in the sunshine. I’ve started work on the bag project that came as this year’s free gift with Rowan International membership. I particularly am enjoying the regularity of row after row of stocking stitch after some of the more complicated projects that I’ve been working in lately.
Time with my mum also allowed for a quick baking lesson. This weekend she taught me how to make Eccles cakes following an old Delia recipe. I’m looking forward to trying them fir myself when I’m back home as Mr C and I certainly thought they were yummy!
I’ve spent the last 24 hours away with work and although I’ve missed Mr C and being at home one good thing that came out of the trip was all the time spent travelling and waiting around in airports has given me the opportunity to read again – the last week’s been so busy that I hadn’t even managed to find time to pick up a book. Luckily a quick trip to mum’s local charity shop in Retford meant that I was fully stocked up with books for my trip! As I sit here on the final stage of my journey home I’m just looking forwards to a night in my own bed and the dinner that I know Mr C is preparing for me.
