If laughter is the food of love…

03/07/2008

Mr C and I have been real party animals this week. Out on two work nights – almost unheard of!

Tonight we visited one of St Albans’ new restaurants: Stonegrill St Albans. The slightly different thing at this restaurant is that your meat, fish or vegetables are served to your table whilst cooking on superheated natural volcanic stones!

It’s a slightly strange experience, and a bit smokey at times, but certainly gave the steak that I had a completely different taste to normal. I understand that Stonegrill is a chain, so if there is one near you then I’d certainly recommend giving it a try.

For tonight’s after dinner entertainment Mr C had booked us tickets for the Comedy Club St Albans, which is held at the recently refurbished Havana in the city. This chain of comedy nights only started in St Albans last months, but there seemed to be a good crowd there and the comedians were also very good.

The funniest joke of the night: “What’s the difference between Amy Winehouse and a Whisk? Beats me!” Maybe you had to be there, but this certainly had us laughing!

So, two sets of comedy in the one week – not sure what next week will bring, but I’ll be amazed if we manage to get more laughs out of a working week!
