Forehead Wrinkles: 4 Ways to Get Rid of Them

17/01/2022

Is your forehead covered in wrinkles that make it rough? Rather than waste your precious time applying loads of foundation to conceal its appearance or rushing to your hairstylist for bangs to hide those forehead wrinkles, why not make an effort to reduce them?

Forehead wrinkles aren’t different from the normal wrinkles you know. With the right cosmetic products and lifestyle changes, you can reduce or even get rid of them.

Here are some ways to make those forehead wrinkles disappear, for good.

Causes of Forehead wrinkles

Before we consider the crux of this article, you might want to know the reasons behind those wrinkles on your forehead.  Is it hereditary? Or a normal process that occurs with aging? Here are a few common causes of forehead wrinkles.

  • Too much sun exposure
  • Staring into screens like that of your TV set, laptop, computer, etc.
  • Stress
  • Gravity
  • Behavioral habits
  • Pollution
  • Recurring forehead facial expression
  • Genetics
  • Facial muscle strength

Forehead wrinkles shouldn’t make you scared. They aren’t a health concern. Regardless, you should make an effort to get rid of them for the sake of your facial appearance and confidence.

Here are five effective ways to rid your forehead of wrinkles.

1. Use Sunscreens

UV rays from the sun are the number one cause of wrinkles. Regular exposure to this detrimental ray results inpremature aging and the appearance of wrinkles. To reduce the risks of wrinkles and dark spots, it is important that you use sunscreen. Consider a sunscreen of SPF 15 or higher for the best protection.

2. Manage stress

Stress is another common cause of wrinkles. It causes changes to the protein in your skin, thus reducing its elasticity. The result? The formation of wrinkles! While getting rid of stress may be hard, keeping it under control isn’t. To succeed in that regard, try these:

  • Practicing yoga
  • Getting adequate sleep
  • Journaling
  • Exercising regularly
  • Diaphragmatic breathing
  • Eating healthily
  • Talking to a therapist
  • Aromatherapy

3. Drink enough water

We believe your doctor often emphasises the importance of drinking adequate water and the consequences of dehydration. Dehydration can lead to severe health complications like seizures, kidney failure, etc. It can also make those forehead wrinkles more obvious.

A well-hydrated skin reduces the appearance of wrinkles. Ensure you drink a minimum of 8-ounces glasses of fluid each day to stay hydrated. If you often exercise or do jobs that require you to spend more time in the sun, you may have to consume more than 8-ounces of fluid per day.

4. Botox

If you don’t have a phobia of needles, you may want to consider Botox injection to get rid of your forehead wrinkles.

Botox is a muscle relaxant introduced (via injection) in the frontalis muscle on the forehead. This helps the muscles relax for three months, thus reducing the upward movement of the eyebrow and preventing the skin from wrinkling.

If you like the Botox idea and would love to give it a try, it makes sense to undergo the treatment in a reliable spa. You can consider Botox at Acqua Blu Medical Spa for the best Botox injection and experience. The Acqua Blu Medical spa also offers acne and hair removal solutions.

5. Quit Smoking

The more you smoke, the more prone you are to develop cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. But that is not all! Smoking can also result in premature aging and the appearance of wrinkles.

Based on a 2008 finding, the chemicals present in tobacco smoke reduce collagen production and impair the skin’s elasticity, thus leading to premature aging and wrinkles.

If the thought of developing cancer, heart disease or diabetes isn’t enough to make you stop smoking, perhaps the thought of aging prematurely would.

Conclusion

Forehead wrinkles may not be a big deal. Regardless, it wouldn’t be wise to fold your arms and do nothing about it. Determine the source of your forehead wrinkles and adopt the appropriate solution. Ensure you visit your dermatologist if there are no improvements.
