Why You Should Visit Japan When the Pandemic is Over

01/09/2020

With so much to see and do and a rich culture and history, Japan is a unique country worth visiting at least once in a lifetime. While we may not be able to travel internationally now, we can prepare for the trip(s) we’d like to go on when it is possible!

Here are some of the best reasons to visit Japan once the pandemic is over:

Incredible architecture and technology

Many people travel from all over the world to see the incredible architecture in Japan. The developments in this country, from technology to the infrastructure in Japan is advanced and only adds to the appeal of the urban and natural landscapes.

Beautiful pristine nature

The natural landscapes in Japan are unlike anywhere else in the world. With Mount Fuji, the mountains and valleys, waterfalls, and so much more, the untouched beauty in Japan offers a sense of peace, awe and natural wonder. If you visit during the springtime, a famous sight that is a must is the blooming cherry blossoms. Overall, the country is often referred to as a nature lover’s paradise.

Incredible food

Even though Japanese food is popular all over the world, there is nothing like authentic Japanese food in Japan. The food here is incredible, and you can find something good to eat even if you stop over a 7/11 or gas station. From noodle shops to three-star Michelin restaurants to street-style pop up restaurants, you can eat at any budget and eat well in Japan.

Temples, shrines and gardens

With Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, and gardens throughout, the stunning sites throughout Japan will keep you wanting to come back to Japan time and time again. One of the most important shrines in the country is Fushimi Inari, dedicated to the Shinto god of Rice, Inari.

People are incredibly polite and friendly

Japanese people are incredibly polite and friendly, and it adds so much positivity to a trip in Japan! Even with a language barrier at times, locals are so kind and willing to help or give a recommendation.

If you are visiting from a western country, a common observation and surprise is how respectful Japanese people are to their environment and surroundings (including to other people).

After being home and not being able to travel for some time, visiting somewhere where the culture is so positive and respectful is a major bonus.

Before you go, learn about local customs so you can engage and respect locals as best as possible.

Very efficient public transport

A major factor that contributes to how well a trip goes is transportation and how easy it is to get around, and Japan has a very efficient public transport system. The trains are punctual, affordable and well connected from big cities to rural spots.

Shopping paradise and the fashion

Fashion and shopping are a big deal in Japan, so it is well worth exploring the shopping malls and visiting the boutiques here. Tokyo offers a shopping experience that is famous all over the world, with popular spots such as Harajuku and Venus Fort.

Have you ever been to Japan? What did you do and see that you loved?
