What Makes Stoke On Trent A Great Place To Be

Stoke on Trent is an area based in Staffordshire, central England and it is renowned for its artistic history. Famous for its pottery industry there are plenty of museums which showcase their famous locally made ceramics, decorative arts and paintings. It’s a charming place to visit and one of the most famous of the museums is The Gladstone Pottery Museum, which is a former Victorian Factory. In addition to its artistic value, Stoke on Trent also has some lovely countryside to boast about, some of which include the Trentham Estate with beautiful Italian gardens, which also are home to monkeys. It makes a lovely place to visit for the day, or if you’re thinking of moving home, here are three great reasons why!

It’s Very Outdoors-y

It is a great place for action seekers and adventurers. Plenty of wildlife and parks and of course the Heritage Canoe Trail which follows canals down towards the area of Froghall Wharf. If you enjoy being on the canal, walking down the canal or basking in nature, then Stoke on Trent is a brilliant place to be. Not only that but it has all the amenities you will need on your doorstep, such as local highstreets, which make for a good bustling community feel. They also have a huge outdoor fun pool and water centre, which is a great place to visit during the summertime. A place for friends and families alike, it’s one great reason to make this town the place to be. 

It Has Great Student Life

There are many colleges and universities in and around the area which make it a good choice for academics and students each year. It is not an overly expensive place to live which makes it even more preferable for places further south. Each of the colleges and universities in the area offer good and varied courses across the board so there is a good sense of community for students and a huge variety of students every year. Staffordshire University is among one of the favourites, it is a city campus which makes travel easy and commuting. There are plenty of student accommodations also, all within a good distance of the university. Accessibility Factor 

Stoke on Trent is a very central area, so its connections to neighbouring cities is very good. It is situated almost in the middle between Manchester and Birmingham and to the east, it has Nottingham and Leicester. It is also an easy location for commuting to London and nearby airports include East Midlands and Manchester. The M6 runs through Stoke on Trent. It also has great access to the rural areas surrounding it, which is great for weekend getaways, days out with the family and shopping. There’s plenty to offer in terms of location which surely makes it a brilliant choice!
