Interior Design Trends 2019

28/02/2019

Interior design trends come and go like the seasons, but there are standouts that accompany the new year. Below you’ll find five trends to pay attention to in 2019 and notice interior designers in Malibu using in their designs.

1. Painted Ceilings

One of the first things you’ll notice in 2019 Santa Monica interior design is painted ceilings. You can use a bold color or wallpaper as an accent, or even carry your base color up to the ceiling. This is considered the fifth wall of your home.

2. Bold Colors

In 2019, bold colors will continue to make a strong appearance. This is usually as an accent piece or statement to add more energy and liveliness to a room. Interior designer Brentwood are going to use colors such as rich red, burnt orange and deep blue. These colors can be seen paired with neutral colors for balance.

3. Big Plants

Interior designers in Malibu are also going to make use of big plants. The placement depends on the plant’s care instructions, such as sunlight and water intake. Any sort of palm tree or even a rubber tree can make an excellent statement and design feature in your home.

4. Mission-style Décor

A theme this year is mission-style features such as terra cotta, patterned tiles and texture added to walls. This adds a splash of warmth to the existing décor of your home, such as a kitchen backsplash. It’s about enhancing your current style without replacing it entirely.

5. Multi-functional Aspects

One big trend that’s happening in 2019 is features with multi-functionality. This could be something such as an ottoman that has room for storage or an office that doubles as a guestroom.

6. Matte-finish Décor

The most appealing way to décor your furnishings is to have them matte-finished in soothing colors. These always look cool and alluring and now it has become fashion of the day to have matte-finish décor. This trend of 2019 is going to cover everything from beauty products to customized cars. This is just because it lends a more relaxed yet futuristic appeal.

7. Artisanal Fixtures

A number of designers and decorators are now shifting from the tech world to the natural world. They are getting more and more partial to the fixtures made by the local artisans and small businesses. These artisanal decorative items are of various types from plastic-made flower baskets to decorative hanging lights.

8. Brass Décor

Stainless steel and concrete accents are now going to be trend-fully replaced by the legendary Brass décor.  Brass is not new to humans but was out of trend during the last few years. It has also surpassed the polished Nickel with the help of its charming attractive beauty. Moreover, brass is also being preferred because it is a surprisingly warm and subtle alternative to all the plastic products.

9. Curvy Furniture

Gone are the days when big boxy sofas and huge chairs were a dire feature of most of the living and drawing rooms. Those definitely suited the larger areas and remained in vogue for quite a number of years. With the advent of comparatively smaller lounges and drawing rooms, the curvaceous articles of furniture are the fashion of the day. There are seen very soothing and comfortable curvy seating arrangements in modern livings right from the start of 2019.

10.  Contrasting tiles and colored grouts

Bathroom, kitchen and floor tiles in various colors with contrasting-colored grouts enhance the beauty of the house to an astonishing extent. The previous ubiquitous white subway is gradually getting old-fashioned nowadays and the latest contrasting- colored trend is gloriously replacing it.
