Taking tea with Oteas

09/01/2017

Anyone that follows me on social media, especially on Instagram, will know that I’m rather partial to a cup of tea. In fact some people seem to think that I spend all day drinking tea. They may in fact be right. Although I’m quite good at multi-tasking so it’s not the only thing I do all day! When an email dropped into my inbox towards the end of last year from Oteas asking if I would like to review some of their teas it didn’t exactly take long for me to respond to them.

oteas tea

Oteas are a UK based speciality tea company who have a desire to promote an active, healthy and balanced lifestyle, that revolves around tea of course! And in my mind that’s a mighty fine idea.

There are seven different ranges of tea sold by Oteas (Black, Green, Organic, Fruiteas, Herbal, Rooibos and OTeaTox) and all their teas are expertly blended with highest quality ingredients, sourced from around the world. The teas that come in tea bags are in pyramid ones, to maximise infusion, but they also have some loose teas too.

I was sent a selection of black, green and fruiteas to try and I have to say I’ve been really rather impressed with them. Now, my main tea tipple of choice is normally a black tea, either drunk black or with a touch of milk added. I do like a fruity tea, but do have to be in the right mood if you know what I mean. I was therefore intrigued to try the range that Oteas had sent me.

Time for a brew. Rather enjoying reviewing @oteaslimited at the moment. Full review on the blog soon… #tea #oteas #mycuppa #igteaclub #mug #emmabridgewater #earlgrey #review #epig

Let’s start with the black ones. The English Breakfast was spot on (drunk with milk) and the Earl Grey was beautifully fragrant (drunk black) and they were very much on a par with my usual favourite brands of these teas. The Fruiteas were probably the biggest surprise as I can normally find fruit teas a bit flat, but the Date and Lime Tea blew me away if I’m honest. It was utterly gorgeous. So hard to put into words, but the delicious combination of flavours was perfect.

Green tea is probably the style I’m least familiar with, but I’m sat here now with a cup of the Green Tea with Jasmine and I’m being transported from a rainy January in Hertfordshire back to the bustling streets of Hong Kong where I pretty much lived on Jasmine tea.

I’m really impressed with the teas I’ve tried from Oteas. I also rather like the fact that they have a range of gifts and accessories too – perfect for tea loving friends!

Disclaimer: Oteas sent me a range of teas for the purposes of this review. All opinions remain my own.
