I love Patricia Cornwall's Scarpetta series and when looking for something to cheer myself up in a charity shop the other day I was rather pleased to find a copy of one of her newer books; At Risk.
As I curled up in bed with it I was initially a tad puzzled as to why someone had written a summary of some of the characters inside the front over. It soon became apparent though as I have never met such a woolly set of characters in my life. This book just didn't gel together at all. The characters were all over the place, the plot didn't hold together at all and to be honest I found it rather difficult to work out what was going on!
Such a disappointment and it has made me question whether or not any future Patricia Cornwall books will be worth trying at all.
