After work tonight I met up with three friends at a bar next to the Thames. This was three women that I used to work with at former employer. I see two of them quite regularly, the third only every so often. This was the first time in three years that all four of us had managed to get together. It was fantastic!
Catching up with and making time for people is so important. No one is going to write on our gravestone about how many hours we spent at work, or our dedication to our job, yet sometimes taking time out from work to do things like this can be more difficult than it should. One thing that I must keep doing is making more time for friends, especially those that I haven’t been able to make time for in a while.
Tonight we enjoyed drinks, laughter, tears and dinner tonight and it was far more fun that anything else I could be doing. I strongly urge all of you to make time to do similar.
I even managed to bump into Mr C on my train journey home. He handed over a copy of Jane Brocket’s Cherry Cake and Ginger Beer that had been delivered by Amazon earlier today. I’ve been looking forward to this book being published for ages. In it Jane Brocket looks to recreate all those food delights that are featured in children’s books. As a child that was firmly brought up on Enid Blyton’s amazing stories I can’t wait to start recreating my childhood!

That sounds like fun!…We are a very long time dead so YES we need to see friends NOW!
and NO one puts how we cleaned and dusted our homes, as a tribute on our gravestones……….
