I swear that Master C’s train obsession is growing by the day! Hours and hours are spent with him on the living room floor, pushing trains around the wooden track that regularly snakes around the legs of the kitchen table and trips me up on my way to make a cup of tea. He recently seems to have clocked that mummy is sent toys to review and for about two weeks our walk home from school would involve him asking me if anyone had sent me any “toy trains for work”.
Imagine his delight one day before the school Easter holidays when I was able to tell him that I had been sent the Brio Special Edition 2017 Train for exactly that reason. (If you’re wondering, apparently that is his excited face when posing for a photo!)
Brio have started this tradition of bringing out a special edition train each year to go with their wooden railways and Master C is rather pleased with the 2017 edition. This special steam train comes with a matching tender and it also has golden pistons that move as the train is pushed along the track. Master C thought the moving pistons one of the most amazing things he’d ever seen. As soon as it was out of the packaging he spent ages pushing it up and down and shouting about how fantastic they were. When his dad came home from work that evening it was again the first feature that he showed off.
The significance of it being a special edition train may have passed him by a bit, but Master C is rather pleased with his new train. The date being so prominent on it (both on the engine itself and on the tender) means that it would make a perfect gift for someone, especially for a baby born in the year. Or for someone who just loves trains, there surely has to be the challenge to collect every year’s train?
Being made my Brio the Special Edition 2017 Train is made to the usual high standards that you expect from Brio. It runs on the standard Brio wooden train track, and all other compatible brands.
