I love an Aldi bargain! I am utterly useless however at realising what is coming into store when though so often it’s only when my sister gets in touch and tells me that I need to get there the next morning that I realise when certain lines are coming in. That’s not the case with their Christmas range though. This is due in store tomorrow (Thursday 17 November) and I was delighted to be sent some samples from the range to try out at home.
Now – the honest bit about being a blogger. I’m sat here today on what has to be the sunniest day of November so far in St Albans. Trying to test out Christmas lights. There’s a certain irony there somewhere isn’t there? I might not be able to manage my own arty photos therefore, but I’m sure Aldi’s stock photos are far better than anything I’d manage anyway. You’ll just have to imagine me trying to make my front room as dark as possible whilst stringing fairy lights across the sofa and playing Michael Buble on my laptop to get me in the spirit of things!

So, enough about my blogging woes and on to Christmas…
This is Aldi’s biggest ever range of Christmas lights and decorations and there really is something for all tastes and budgets. There are thirteen different lights sets ranging in price from just £3.99 up to £19.99 for 360 Icicle Lights that are available in warm white, white and ice blue and will make the outside of your home look like something from a winter wonderland.
Let’s just pretend for a minute that I live somewhere in Scandinavia and this is my house, ok?
The kids also love the Christmas Tree pathfinder lights that we were sent. They suggest using them to guide Santa to the front door, but Master C’s now insistent that we use them to guide him to the chimney – not quiet so easy to sort the wiring for that one!
Master C has a thing for some of the slightly more kitch decorations. He’s prepared to fight his sister for the Christmas Candle Snow Globe. This changes colour and he’s absolutely obsessed with it!
We’re hosting Christmas here this year and so I’m looking forward to really going to town decorating the house. With the kids having been so small the tree the last few years has been a bit of a hotchpotch mess of styles, but I’m thinking that these red berry lights might form the basis for a slightly different style this year. We’ve had white lights for a while, but I’m thinking red lights with white and silver Nordic style decorations maybe? What do you think?
I’m also personally in love with this Decorative Hearts Candle Arch. I love seeing lights in people’s windows at Christmas time – I’m nosey and just love walking round streets trying to look into people’s homes if I’m honest – and I’ve wanted something like this for a while. It being battery powered with a timer option makes it perfect for going on my front room windowsill.
I’m really impressed with the range of products that I was sent. Everything works brilliantly and they’re all quality items, as I’ve come to expect from Aldi over the years of shopping there. And best of all, they’re all priced excellently!
The Aldi Christmas Lights and Decorations range is in stores and online from 17 November 2016 whilst stocks last. I’m off to tip off my sister for once…
Disclaimer: I was sent a variety of items from the Aldi Christmas lights and decorations range to review for this post. All opinions are my own. Lack of photos of the items in my own house is entirely due to it being impossible to photograph Christmas lights in bright sunshine!

I never knew I could get them online – I hope I haven’t left it too late.
