If you follow me on Facebook (click here if you aren’t and don’t want to miss out!) then you’ll probably have seen me sharing posts by the wonderful Knickers Model’s Own. In memory of her late mother, Caroline is challenging herself to wear a new outfit a day based only on things she can buy in a Cancer Research UK shop. She’s doing amazingly well and has also attracted a lot of media attention in doing so.
Inspired by her I’ve been shopping myself in the charity shops of St Albans…

Amazing what you can find! Next time you’re doing something on charity shops, could you also remind your readers/viewers who are donating that many of them have a gift aid scheme for donations? Fill in a form when you drop your first bag off (for later bags you just give them your code) and they can claim gift aid when the items are actually sold. This means for every £1 they sell your stuff for, the charity gets £1.25.

Definitely! Was planning a few posts on charity shopping in general so I will include this. I do it myself at the charity shops I regularly donate to and know it makes a big difference to them.
