With Team Honk coming to St Albans this Tuesday I'm purposfully going for a picture heavy, word light Ladybird Tuesday post this week.
I've chosen one of my favourite books from my favourite series, 633 – Hobbies and Interests, and it's also a book which I'm hoping to do some of the makes with Little Miss C this year – Toys and Games to Make.
All the things that the book shows you on the contents page are the sorts of things that people used to have knocking around in their house back in the 60s (or even 70s) when this book was first published. I clearly remember my Dad having a desk drawer that contained loads of this kind of thing.
Interestingly we were just sent a Bigjigs French Knitting set to review, so I'm keen to compare it to a homemade version like this.
And isn't it amazing to think that all this dolls house furniture was made from matchboxes and matchsticks.
This fishing game would be a lovely one to do together and I'm sure I can find some fish printables somewhere online that we can colour in together to make the fish.
I also think this little paddle steamer is adorable – I just need to find myself an empty matchbox and a decent elastic band!
If you have a collection of old Ladybird books then please feel free to join in with Ladybird Tuesday. There are no formal rules to follow, just leave a link to any post you write in the comments below and if you're feeling kind link back to my Ladybird Tuesday category here on Being Mrs C. Thanks!
