When I said that I need to read something a bit lighthearted next I certainly wasn't kidding. I'm a huge crime fiction fan and love everything from classics like Wilkie Collins and Agatha Christie right through to some of the slightly more "trashy" US crime fiction. I love a good mystery and find that the distraction of trying to figure out who killed who in a crime novel a great way of switching off from day to day worries once I'm in bed.
Sue Grafton's E Is For Evidence is part of the Kinsey Millhone "alphabet series" which I have dipped into over the years. Kinsey is a slightly different private detective because more than anything else I'm always left with the strange urge to want to mother her by the end of each book!
In this book Kinsey herself seems to be the target of a sting operation, but she's no idea why. When people around her start being killed it all steps up a gear. When Kinsey's ex-husband reappears offering to help it makes her realise that something very strange is going on!
A great read and a good motivation for me to rediscover the rest of the alphabet series. Such a better reading experince than Little Men was!

I have all of the ( so far ) published books by Sue grafton and they are really good – if you want to borrow any you are more than welcome, as long as you either collect, or pay the postage!
They are all very good indeed.
