When going to a little girl's first birthday party you certainly can't arrive empty handed. When the birthday girl also has a slightly older sister then two gifts are required so as not to give mum and dad a headache later on. Therefore A, and older sister B, were both the recipients of these lovely little bags, each containing a new bit of bedtime reading.
Both bags were made with fabric from my stash with the girls' initials added in felt. Not difficult to make, although sewing round the curved edges of the letter B made me realise just how little time I've recently spent on my sewing machine!
As much as little girls love bags, their contents will also hopefully be treasured just as much. For A I chose a lovely 30th anniversary edition of Peepo!, which is currently LMC's favourite bedtime story, and B received a copy of The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin one of the many lovely books from Beatrix Potter.

What lovely bags and what a lovely choice of books to put in them!
I think you should be making bags and filling them with vintage/retro gifts for people, big and small, as a business…!

That is a great idea – going to make a mental note to copy that for birthday gifts going forward
