I've got some exciting times coming up over the next month or so.
Firstly, Mr C and I off to the River Cottage Festival this weekend. Unfortunately the weather forecast isn't looking too good, but fingers crossed. I'm a bit fan of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and his various television programmes and accompanying books.
The week after next I have managed to get myself booked on to a Rowan beginners crochet course that is being held at a local John Lewis. I've been wanting to learn to crochet for ages and am really looking forward to this day. I'm taking a day off work to do the course and I can't think of a better way of spending the day.
This evening I have also arranged with my Mum for us to go to the Knitting and Stitching show together when it is held at London's Alexandra Palace in October. Again, I'll be using a day's leave to go, but am really looking forward to a girly day with my Mum, and the opportunity to indulge myself. There's already talk of us making time for a drink at St Pancras before she gets her train north at the end of the day.
One final thing that is making me smile at the moment is a book that I ordered from Amazon last week. Knitalong tells readers all about knitting groups of all shapes and sizes around the world. Also included are a number of patterns. I've only had time to skim this book so far, but as the nights are closing in I am so looking forward to spending many an evening curled up on the sofa reading this.
